15 Jul Team Member Spotlight: Claire Hopple, Account Leader
At GoEpps, we know that great people make all the difference. Recently, we checked in with Claire Hopple, an EI account leader, about her experience as a part of our team. We had a friendly Q&A with Claire, and she gave us the inside scoop on working at GoEpps, the benefits of perpetual curiosity, and the importance of applying psychological know-how when things get a little crazy.
First of all, what exactly is the role of an account leader at GoEpps?
Claire: An Account Leader helps everything stay in motion by ensuring quality work from vendors and delivering excellent service to clients with open lines of communication. Keeping things on time, on quality and on budget is a major aspect to the job while also making sure each client feels heard and respected.
So what is a typical day like for you working with the team at EI?
Claire: A typical day includes editing content, delegating projects to vendors, answering questions from clients and vendors, ensuring on-time deliverables and completing my own tasks, such as creating email newsletters, managing social media, posting content, optimizations, making small coding fixes in WordPress and more. It’s nice to have a dynamic day with several challenges to keep me occupied and engaged.
Why do you think the word “leader” in your job title?
Claire: I think the word “leader” is in the title because we are intended to initiate. We keep things moving so that things can get done, and get done well. There are many things I have yet to learn, so asking a lot of questions helps keeps the forward momentum required.
What are some of your favorite experiences you’ve had serving clients as an account leader?
Claire: Everyone at Epps appreciates diversity in all its forms, and I think it’s been a great experience to work with a breadth of people and companies from all industries. I’m innately curious so it’s intriguing to get a glimpse of how certain companies operate. I have a deep love of words, so editing and doing a little writing myself is also something I appreciate in this role. Plus, I’ve loved discovering how WordPress works and tinkering with code, though I am still quite the beginner in that regard.
What do clients find the most helpful in their relationship with you as their account leader?
Claire: I think clients ultimately want to know that deliverables will not only be completed but that they will be done with quality. I also think that being approachable helps, as clients are freed up to ask any questions that come to mind or make requests that may be considered above and beyond, and know that they will be met with respect.
You have a counseling background—does that ever come in handy in your role as account leader?
Claire: My counseling background has helped tremendously because it gives me a foundation based on understanding people and listening well, which assists in client and vendor communication. There is a substantial amount of intuitiveness that most counselors have, and I rely on it to help me navigate all situations.
