How long have you been working at GoEpps?
I’ve been working at GoEpps for a little over 4 years now. I got the job shortly after graduating from Graduate School at Belmont University back in 2021.
What is your current role at GoEpps, and what does it entail?
My role at GoEpps has shifted a lot since starting. I began my role as an “SEO expert” solely working on educating myself on SEO techniques and using those techniques to help grow the online presence for our clients. Over time, I’ve switched to “Performance Manager,” with the main role being working to boost the performance of clients through all channels, and monitoring to make sure they reach their goals. Since starting my time at GoEpps, I’ve added analytics/dashboard management, client communication, listings management, paid search management, and more to the list of responsibilities.
What is your background in digital marketing?
I majored in Marketing at Syracuse University for my undergraduate degree, and I got an MBA at Belmont University, with a focus in Marketing. Since graduating undergrad, I’ve completed four internships, all in Digital Marketing roles.
What’s a project or campaign you’ve worked on that you’re particularly proud of?
This was a while ago, but Google updated Google Analytics Universal to “GA4” which was a major shift. Along with help from employees, we caught on to it early, and over a few months, we transferred every client to GA4, which included downloading all of their previous data. I am proud that we caught on to it early and didn’t just wait until the last minute, and also how we managed to successfully move everyone to GA4 with no issues. I also made sure to change the dashboards to reflect the new GA4 data. We also got a few compliments from clients, which also feels great.
What most excites you about the future of digital marketing? What are your concerns?
I’m really excited about all the new technology that has sprung up in the last few years. AI is a game changer, and it has been and will continue to be a very important and efficient tool to help improve digital marketing. I would say my concern, though, is very similar—while AI is an amazing technology, it may result in a whole shift in the industry (we're already seeing that with Google at the moment).
What’s your favorite thing about working at GoEpps?
My favorite thing about GoEpps is the way it is managed and my awesome coworkers. GoEpps is very unique in that it allows us to work hard and deliver results, while at the same time having a great work-life balance. I never feel too micromanaged, and I feel like I have enough responsibilities that I am making a difference in the company, which is something a lot of people in large corporate companies wouldn’t be able to say. The employees at GoEpps are fantastic, and everyone gets along.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work? Any side gigs or unique hobbies?
I really like joining casual sports leagues every now and then, and Nashville has a lot of them. I’ve done a few years of Softball, Volleyball, and Kickball. I also love going to the gym. Pickleball is also fun.
For other hobbies, I love going to the movies and concerts. I’ll never say no to checking out a new movie, no matter the day.
Rapid fire: Favorite movie, TV show, book, and/or podcast?
My favorite movie is Back to the Future (I love all three, but I’ll say the first one if I had to pick one). My favorite TV show is Breaking Bad. My favorite book is “Bringing Down the House” by Ben Mezrich (the movie “21” was based on it). My favorite podcast is The Joe Rogan Experience.
Favorite food or drink?
I have to say a Chipotle Burrito bowl (I eat it way too much, but it always satisfies). For a treat, I love buffalo chicken wings. My favorite drink is Diet Coke.
Anything else we should know about you?
I’m a huge fan of The Beatles!
